i feel this needs to be tatooed onto me somewhere......

Pretty City

i am really excited to give you a sneaky peak at my new range for SS10 release.
Pretty City
Taking inspiration from Rob Ryan and Miroslav Sasek, i spent a couple of days designing classic london icons and then translated them into products. i am really chuffed with this range and really enjoyed working on it from start to finish.
A Paris version may be on the cards for AW10, we've got to see how the launch of the London collection goes down at the Spring Fair at the NEC next week.

wedding day card

It was my good friend Ellie's wedding day Saturday just gone. she looked completely stunning and radiant, and had been planning her wedding day since she was about 6 months old. she asked me to make her a card for her husband to be to open on the morning of their wedding day, and here it is, Rob Ryan influenced as you can tell.....

christmas wrap

After designing my friends xmas card, i was able to quickly whip up a wrap design from it. now don't get me wrong, i do buy it normally, but i had some friends christmas prezzies i needed to post from work and had completely forgot about wrapping them, so by the magic of printing on A3 paper, a wrap was born, and all was well. and lets hope they liked it as i was sending them to my old work friends at caroline gardner-who design wrap for a living.....

Vintage Print Leather purses

These were a quick add on at the end of AW09 season, but are totally gorgeous and are doing well in the shops. This is using one of our new suppliers we found in China on our trip out there, made of really soft leather, we're chuffed to bits in the office with them, and so from the good response we've had from them, I'm expanding the range for the SS10 season, can't wait to get on with the designs for them!

Lavish knitwear

The days are getting chilly'er, well wetter may be a better way describe our winters here in Blighty, and so for the Autumn/winter release i added on to my Lavish bag range with a knitwear collection, i love the roses on these items made out of velvet ribbons. these products are also in a black and turquoise colour way, but this is my favourite.

Bobbypin

Right-o, onto the next range, and this one was for a licence we have called Bobbypin
(by the illustrator who drew the pictures for Madonna's books)
we were provided with a style guide for 2009, and this was my first time at designing a range using his graphics. i picked up on the peacock illustrations that seemed to be pretty on-trend, and thought i could do something with them!
initially i saw this range being made out of inky blue satin with a green frill, but when the first samples came in, it was pretty tacky, so we changed direction and went for beautiful embroidery on rouched PVC. and after what i thought would be the worst 1st attempt at a licensed product ever, i was really pleased with the range.
Here's the wallet...

Dandy range

So...
following on from Paper Plane, we wanted to carry on the postal theme at work on a new range. so off i went to one of my favourite shops in Brighton and bought some beauuuutiful original victorian letters and postcards.
It evolved into a more feminine range with roses and love letters (although if you read the text it is actually about re-paying a debt of £50), and this range also included porcelain and flasks as well as the usual bags.
And so was born the DANDY range

fingers crossed it does as well as Paper Plane hey ;)

I'M BACK!

Oh dear,
well obviously i haven't been in China for all this time, i just got pretty slack at my blog updates and work has swept me off my feet these past 8 months. well, going into the christmas period and new year with a new aim to stay updated.

so.....whats been going on?
well! my PAPER PLANE range has taken off like i could of never have imagined, as soon as it's ordered in, the stock is going straight out, i don't even own a purse myself. Here are the products that came out in summer this year.click on the link to visit my works retail website, where they're all available to buy-just in time for christmas, you lucky things.

but my prodest moment, i think to date in my life, was my make up bag from this range being featured in HEAT magazin, and being compaered to PAUL SMITH!!!! wow.
this season i've added more products to the range. these include a real leather mans wallet, porcelain mugs, plates and bowls (oh my gosh) a flask and notebook.
